Preparation
1.Plain Uppit:
1.Roast the cream of wheat(Rava) in a pan with 1 tbsp of ghee. roast until you get a nutty flavor. Remove it from the heat and transfer the rava to a plate.
2.In the same pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil/ghee. Add mustard seeds and allow them to pop. then add hing, urad dal, Red chillies, and ginger.
3.Once the ginger gets soft add 3 and 1/2 cups of water, salt, and roasted rava and allow it to cook. Finally put 1 tbsp of lime juice. Serve with coconut chatni or Chatni pudi
Vegetable uppit:
The step 1. is similar as in the above method.
The step2. is slightly different. In this you cook the vegetables in the vaggarini. Once they get cooked add 3 cups of water and add rava. Follow step 3 similarly.
Serve with chatni powder.
