Putani(dalia)- 1 cup
5-8 red chillis
1 tsp Asafoetida
Dry grated coconut - 1 fist
Tamarind paste - 2 tsp
Cilantro leaves - 1 tbsp
salt to taste
Preparation:
1.Grind the above ingredients. Take the small pan and add little qty(say, 1 tbsp)of oil. Allow it to heat.Then add 1 tsp mustard seeds. Once the mustards are sputtered, pour this onto the powder.Mix well. This goes well with Idli, dosas. One can add little quantity of yogurt into this powder and serve it as a chatni.
