This is a South Karnataka dish. This was contributed by my friend who is originally from Bangalore.
- Puthani(dalia split) - 1/4 cup
- Fresh grated coconut - slightly less 1/4 cup
- Cinnamon - 1 long stick(broken into pieces)
- Pepper - 2 tsp
- Cloves - 6
- Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp
- Cumins - 1 tbsp
- cilantro - 2 tbsp
- green chillies- 2
- Carrots - 1/4 cup
- green beans - 1/4 cup
- green peas - 1/4 cup
- Cooked potatoes - 1/2 cup
Cook all the vegetables in the usual mustard vaggairni. Grind all the ingredients for masala with little bit of water. Pour that paste into the cooked vegetables. Allow it to boil. Add water in case it is too thick. Serve it with pooris or chapatis.
